How to turn a picture into a cross stitch chart
- Open the converter and upload a PNG, JPG, WebP, or GIF.
- Set the pixel block size. A larger block size produces a simpler grid; a smaller block size keeps more image detail.
- Choose a palette if you want to limit the number of colors, then select View Blueprint.
- Read the hex code in each cell and the Cells column in the color table as you plan the chart.
PixelCommit runs the conversion in your browser, so your image is not uploaded to a server.
Print an A4 reference: a practical example
For a small photo motif, first make a conversion and check that the grid is simple enough to read. Click View Blueprint; the blueprint places the grid above the color table. Each table row gives one hex color and its Cells count. Click Print A4 to print that same grid and table on one A4 reference sheet, then keep the sheet beside your fabric while you stitch.
